The Storm Guard and their newfound allies prepared at daybreak for the assault on the titan. The forces of Parnam, small though they were, gathered outside the city walls, bringing with them siege engines in the hopes that you would be able to bring down the beast’s shields.
You set off on horseback toward the titan; the druid Celeste offering her own horse (which she knew would not return) to Keelan to lead the charge. As you neared the beast you abandoned the horses and took flight using potions, a flying carpet, and Theolan’s dragon.
The rear group travelled under the beast and came up over the rear deck. Keelan, Orestes, Raelen, and Ebrahim made up this force. They were immediately beset by over ten drow warriors, including some on towers who brought their ballistae to bear. On the central tower you saw a priestess and Larin Karr himself, but he vanished as the fighting got underway.
Though wounded by drow poison, Keelan let loose a Tsunami that took out several drow, one of the ballistae, and drenched the central tower before it was dispelled. Raelen made his way up one of the side towers, killed the drow stationed there, and trained the ballista on the drow priestess. Orestes used a fireball to engulf a small, flying githyanki skiff that approached sending it crashing to the ground, and Ebrahim went from target to target delivering killing blows.
Once the topside drow forces were eliminated, you explored the central tower. You found the drow priestess’ quarters and two large drowned spiders. You also found a way down into the beast itself.
At the front of the creature Phen and Vreior on the flying carpet and Carric and Theolan on his dragon made toward the pilot house. Finding an open-air level of the tower, Phen and Vreior leapt into the fray. Phen first blasted two githyanki off the tower, and Vreior waded in with his axe swinging. With Vreior’s raw might and Phen’s calculated sneak attacks, the pair cleared at least eight githyanki out on their own.
Carric and Theolan took on the githyanki stationed on the roof. Using the dragon Red effectively, he first breathed fire over one of the ballistae, and then landed on and crushed a second. Carric and Theolan both shot githyanki from a distance, and lured some up from the command deck below. Theolan was badly hurt, but took some healing potions and, using his dragon, made his way alone on the back of the beast. There, he destroyed the shield generator and met the rear team at the central tower. The remainder of the front team killed the githyanki captain, cleared the pilot house and also found a way into the titan itself..
Inside the creature, both groups beheld a cavernous lavascape and lingering heat and smoke. After each force fought off a fire giant, you collectively regrouped toward the center of the beast and began again your search for Larin Karr and the Planar Lodestone . . .
